We had an amazing day today on base. Ft. Jackson had an event called Thunder on Ft. Jackson. There was a nice ceremony with all the 50 flags on the field, soldiers came out of the woods using smoke grenades as cover (simulating a modern battle scene). There was a historic cavalry unit out there mounted on horses, Vic's big guns were out there and in use as they fired cannons during the ceremony. Sydnee laughed everytime the cannons fired, like the little Artillery that she is :) Most of the other little kids were scared, but not her! Then we ate all of the sugary carnival food, made some arts & crafts, let Isaiah play in the little tykes rest spot and headed back home. We were so exhausted from all of the sun, fun, and excitement that EVERYBODY took a long nap! Thank God for all of our amazing people in uniform and their devoted families.
